All-New Cadillac Optiq Expands GM's EV Offensive
Electrification is not slowing down at Cadillac. A fourth EV will soon join the lineup as GM’s luxury brand today confirmed.
You already know the Lyriq, a midsize crossover, which became the first battery-powered Cadillac to hit the market. A large, ultra-premium sedan called Celestiq (with a base price that should top $400,000 in Canada) was announced last year, and more recently the company showed the Escalade IQ full-size SUV.

Now, meet the Optiq, which is a compact crossover that will slot below the Lyriq. If you remember, we initially told you about this vehicle when pictures of the Chinese-spec model surfaced online back in July.
Unfortunately, all we have at this time is a couple of new pictures revealing what will be the production model for North America. Cadillac says the Optiq’s “spirited driving dynamics are designed to appeal to global luxury customers.”

Obviously based on GM’s Ultium platform, the new crossover will likely offer single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations. If it’s anything like the Chevrolet Blazer EV, output would be anywhere between 288-557 horsepower. Maximum range is projected to be 400-500 km.
Additional details, as well as available features and pricing, will be unveiled next year, Cadillac says. We’ll keep you posted.
