Upcoming Cadillac Concept to Preview Electric V-Series Cars

What will future performance models from Cadillac look like in the EV era and what will they be capable of? It looks like we’ll get some answers real soon.

GM’s luxury brand today released a teaser for a new concept called Opulent Velocity, which will foreshadow the electrification of the V-Series that’s celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

As the name implies, the vehicle will aim to demonstrate the evolution of Cadillac’s renowned sense of opulence while at the same time envisioning the future of a high-speed performance driving experience. For now, we can’t really tell if it will be a crossover or a more traditional car. The company is hinting at motorsport-derived technologies and innovations.

“Opulent Velocity is designed to foreshadow a zero emissions expression of performance and modern luxury leadership,” said Bryan Nesbitt, executive director, Cadillac Global Design. “We will share more later this year, so stay tuned.”

Cadillac has so far introduced five different EV models including the Lyriq, Celestiq, Escalade IQ, Optiq and Vistiq. The first one looks like a prime candidate to get the V treatment.

We’re also very curious to see how power and acceleration will compare with gas-powered models such as the refreshed 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, which deliver 360 horsepower and 668 horsepower, respectively.
