An Unofficial First Look at the 2021 Ford F-150 Interior

So, when will we get to see the launch of the 2021 Ford F-150? No date has been announced, and chances are the COVID-19 crisis is messing with the company’s plans—as was the case with the all-new Bronco and Bronco Sport. Could it be delayed until the 2022 model year? Anything’s possible at this point.

While Ford has yet to release any official pictures of the next-gen truck, we have an idea of what it will look like.

In February, spy photographers caught a partly camouflaged F-150 being road tested near Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. We saw one of the grilles, the headlights, taillights and a few other details including the front tow hooks.

Now, courtesy of a user named “Sequoia Sam” on the F150gen14.com forum, we get a first peek at the interior.

The photos show a mid-level Lariat model, as evidenced above. There will be less fancy cabins (XL, XLT) and more luxurious ones (King Ranch, Platinum, Limited), but we can still appreciate  what designers have done here.

In particular, an all-digital instrument panel is available to replace the analogue gauges behind the steering wheel, while a giant, square-shaped touchscreen sits in the middle of the dashboard. It is likely 15.5 inches in size, as mentioned during the announcement for the new SYNC 4 infotainment system. An eight-inch display will come standard.

Mercifully, several key buttons and knobs remain below the screen, along with 12V and 120V power outlets and some USB ports. Controls like the shifter and drive mode selector have been redesigned, as well.

In related news, credible sources have revealed that all current engines will be back, while the new F-150 Plug-in Hybrid will use a 3.5-litre V6 and offer an EV range of about 15-20 kilometres (to be confirmed).
