MINI Cooper SE
Following its world premiere in July, the all-new, all-electric 2020 MINI Cooper SE 3 Door has finally arrived in Canada. Offering 177 km of range, it must be viewed as a luxury toy designed essentially for city driving—or perhaps a second car for families where one parent doesn’t have long commutes to work.

Ford Mustang Mach-E
Borrowing a number of design cues from the legendary pony car, the controversial Mustang Mach-E propels the Blue Oval brand into a new era of mobility. It offers as much as 475 kilometres of zero-emission range.

Porsche Taycan Turbo
The EPA rates the Taycan Turbo's range at 201 miles, equal to 323 kilometres. That is below the figures posted by both the Tesla Model S and Model 3. Still, we're impressed with Porsche's civilized electric rocket.

Chevrolet Bolt EV
The Chevrolet Bolt EV set a benchmark for affordable electric vehicles with 383 kilometres of range on a full charge when it debuted a few of years ago. Now, for 2020, the automaker is increasing that number up to 417 kilometres, or more than any other EV except the Tesla Model S.

Jaguar’s first-ever fully electric vehicle, the I-PACE blends performance and environmental friendliness with a total of 394 horsepower and a driving range of 377 kilometres on a single charge. And for the second year in a row, AJAC named it the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.

Kia Soul EV
The third-generation Soul EV has arrived with a selection of larger, 39.2-kWh and 64-kWh batteries that provide a range of 248 and 383 kilometres, respectively. It looks super-sleek, too.

Hyundai Kona EV
The fully electric variant of the popular Hyundai Kona provides a range of up to 415 kilometres. Too bad it's not available with AWD...

Nissan LEAF PLUS
Nissan has sold more than 400,000 LEAFs around the globe. Equipped with a larger battery, the latest variant called "LEAF PLUS" delivers 214 horsepower and a range of 363 kilometres.

Volkswagen e-Golf
The Volkswagen e-Golf uses an electric motor that generates 134 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque, as well as a 35.8-kWh battery that delivers a range of 201 kilometres. Level 2 (240V) charging requires five hours. This model is about to be replaced by a next-generation EV from the ID. family.

Tesla Model 3
Last fall, Tesla boosted the range of the Model 3 Standard Range Plus to 402 kilometres. As for the Long Range and Performance variants, they continue to provide 499 kilometres of range. Of course, they also benefit from all-wheel drive whereas the regular Model 3 has rear-wheel drive only.
