2022 Volkswagen Taos: Here’s How Much it Will Cost

As previously reported, Volkswagen is set to expand its SUV lineup in Canada with the addition of the all-new 2022 Taos. And now we know how much it will cost.

Slotting just below the slightly larger Tiguan, the Volkswagen Taos will start at $26,695 when it arrives in Canadian showrooms this summer, more specifically in July.

As a direct rival of the Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Seltos, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Jeep Compass and Chevrolet Trailblazer, the Taos relies on a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard on FWD models (7.6L/100 km), while AWD variants equipped with the 4Motion system (8.5 L/100 km) get a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

By the way, the Taos stands 4,466 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,689 mm. These measurements are 236 mm and 101 mm shorter, respectively, than the Tiguan’s. As for cargo capacity, expect to fit up to 790 litres behind the rear seats.
