2021 BMW M3 and M4 Leaked Day Ahead of Reveal

The official debut of the new and highly anticipated 2021 BMW M3 and M4 will take place on Wednesday. However, a number of pictures have just leaked online, giving us our first real good look at these two high-performance compact cars.

The source of the leak remains unknown, but these shots were posted first on Instagram by carswithoutlimits and then shared by BMW Blog and other websites.

We can see the M3 sedan in green and the M4 coupe in bright yellow, each one sporting the gigantic front grille introduced on the next-generation 4 Series (and before that the Concept 4 at the 2019 Frankfurt Auto Show). The grille’s vertical profile is offset by dark, horizontal slats and flanked by available laser headlights.

In the rear, the M3’s taillights are different from those of the M4, but the two cars feature quad tailpipes, a bold diffuser and a muscular bumper.

The only picture of the interior shows a two-tone environment with an ultra-sporty cockpit. Take a look at those race-inspired bucket seats; they’re awesome.

No technical details were part of the leak, but we already know that the M3 and M4 will boast a new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine, just like the X3 M and X4 M crossovers. They’re expected to deliver 473 horsepower in base trim, which would represent of bump of 48 horsepower from the previous generation, while the exotic-sounding Competition models will likely produce 503 horsepower.

We also know from BMW M Chief Executive Officer Markus Flasch that the six-speed manual gearbox will stay in the lineup. Furthermore, an M5-derived all-wheel drive system will be available in addition to the standard rear-wheel drive setup.

Come back tomorrow for complete information and many more images of the 2021 BMW M3 and M4.
