The big news for 2023 is the return of the mighty Civic Type R after a one-year hiatus. The turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine now produces 315 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque, again with the help of a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Base Civic models can be had in four-door sedan and five-door hatchback configurations, while the sporty Civic Si is a sedan only with a turbocharged 1.5-litre mill generating 200 horsepower.
