Want to Buy a 1967 Ford Mustang Super Snake With 650 hp?

We at The Car Guide have a soft spot for classic Ford Mustangs from the 1960s—just like many of you, in fact. And when they’re fully restored and customized, we like them even more.

In recent months, we’ve shown you a few examples including a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 nicknamed “Hitman” that cranks out a mind-boggling 1,000 horsepower, and a fully electric 1967 Mustang complete with a Burnout mode.

Here’s another one that is no less impressive and actually for sale.

You’re looking at a 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible with a heavily modified exterior that simultaneously adds character to the car while preserving most of its old-time charm. The body is channelled four inches downward and rides on a new chassis featuring an independent front suspension and four-link rear setup. The custom 19-inch Forgeline wheels are wrapped in Nitto tires and partially hide 14-inch cross-drilled rotors with six-piston callipers.

Why such huge and powerful brakes? Because the car’s stock engine has been replaced by a supercharged 5.4-litre V8 from a 2012 Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake. It now generates 650 horsepower, all controlled by a six-speed Tremec T56 Magnum manual gearbox. Kooks headers and Borla mufflers are part of a custom side-exist exhaust system.

As for the interior, upgrades include custom leather seats, white-faced Shelby Cobra gauges, a Vintage Air A/C system and what looks like a touchscreen behind the shifter. The centre console, dashboard, pedals, speakers and steering wheel have all been refurbished, as well. Power steering is also in the mix.

On the Motorius website, the seller advertises its 1967 Ford Mustang Super Snake Convertible at $189,999 USD—roughly equal to $268,000 CAD—though offers are accepted. In comparison, a brand new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 with 760 horsepower under the hood starts at $94,675 at your nearest Ford dealer.
