2024 Canadian International AutoShow Preview

Are you ready, Toronto? The 2024 Canadian International AutoShow (CIAS) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre will kick off this Friday and run through February 25.

The Car Guide will be on hand during Media Day on Thursday to cover the event, from the presentation of AJAC’s 2024 Canadian Car of the Year Awards to the global and Canadian debuts of several new models. Scroll down for a detailed list.

The CIAS will welcome back every automotive brand that participated in the 2023 event, with at least an additional seven brands returning for the first time since the global pandemic. In fact, visitors will find no fewer than 30 brands on the main show floors. Tesla’s return will be highlighted by the Cybertruck.

Billed as the quickest car in the world, the innovative and groundbreaking Rimac Nevera will headline the opening of Media Day. You won’t want to miss our interview with company CEO Mate Rimac.

Speaking of which, Grand Touring Automobiles, one of the country’s premier retailers of luxury automobiles, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in style by featuring three cars that have never before been seen at a Canadian auto show and four brands that have never been seen at the Canadian International AutoShow before—Rimac, Zagato, Himalaya and The Little Car Company.

The CIAS will also be home to the popular Camp Jeep test track once again. Other fan favourite features and exhibits include the supercars and luxury vehicles of Auto Exotica, the rare collectables in Cobble Beach Classics, family-friendly installations from renowned brands LEGO and Mattel, the informative Electric City, Canada’s largest indoor EV test track, and a tribute to IndyCar.

Incidentally, four-time IndyCar champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti will be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame as its 2023 International Category recipient at a black-tie gala in Toronto on Wednesday night.
