The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Returns in 2023

Dodge is kicking off its Speed Week event in full force with the ressurection of the Durango SRT Hellcat for 2023. If you remember, the Hellcat Durango was supposed to be a 2021-only thing, like a gas-guzzling summer fling. But this three-row monster is back to terrorize the suburbs with all 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine. It can zip from 0 to 97 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and it aces the quarter mile in just 11.5 seconds. All that with a top speed of 290 km/h.

The HEMI engine features a cast-iron block with water jackets between the cylinders for optimal cooling, high-strength forged alloy pistons and aluminum alloy cylinder heads. Brembo brakes put a stop to the madness thanks to six-piston calipers in the front and four in the rear. The discs measure 15.75 inches in the front and 13.8 inches in the rear.

The TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission includes steering wheel-mounted paddles and offers seven drive modes: Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, Tow, Eco and Valet.

Aesthetically Identical

Outside, the Durango SRT Hellcat remains unchanged. It still features numerous air intakes and dams to help cool the mechanical inferno under the hood.

The interior is distinguished from other Durango models by its red accents and Nappa leather seats with suede inserts that feature an embroidered SRT logo.

The Uconnect multimedia system is accessible via a 10.1-inch screen. Production of the 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022 and is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2023. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
