2022 Infiniti QX55 Goes on Sale in April; Pricing is Announced

Unveiled last November after a long wait of more than a year, the all-new 2022 Infiniti QX55 will arrive at Canadian dealerships in April. We can already tell you about equipment details and prices, which put this coupe-like SUV above the existing QX50.

Available in three trim levels including Luxe, Essential ProAssist and Sensory, the QX55 comes standard with intelligent all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels and a 268-horsepower, four-cylinder turbo engine paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The base QX55 starts at $51,995 plus destination and handling. Content includes a power-sliding glass moonroof, leatherette seats, heated front seats, dark aluminum interior trim accents, an InTouch infotainment system with dual touchscreens (8” and 7”), Active Noise Cancellation, and a 4G LTE hot spot that offers Wi-Fi connectivity on the go for up to seven devices.

Safety is delivered by a suite of active features including Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Predictive Forward Collision Warnings, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

Customers opting for the mid-level Essential ProAssist trim at $56,998 will find leather-appointed seats, navigation, a 360-degree camera system with Moving Object Detection, and Bose Performance Series premium audio with 16 speakers.

This is in addition to an adaptive front lighting system, Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, Blind Spot Intervention, and Lane Departure Prevention.

Finally, the top-line QX55 Sensory is priced from $60,998. It stands out with supple semi-aniline leather-appointed seating (available in beautiful Monaco Red and Graphite), natural maple open-pore wood trim accents, tri-zone automatic climate control, a motion-activated liftgate, ambient lighting, Traffic Sign Recognition, Direct Adaptive Steering, and head-up display.

It’s the only model to offer ProPILOT Assist, a system that enables semi-autonomous driving on the highway.

On a practical note, like any coupe-like SUV, the QX55 offers less cargo room than the conventional SUV it’s based on. Trunk capacity is rated at 761 litres versus 895 litres in the QX50. The difference is not insignificant. At least the rear seats slide fore and aft for extra versatility.

The 2022 Infiniti QX55 will go head-to-head with models such as the Audi Q5 Sportback, BMW X4, Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and Porsche Macan. It will be followed later this year by the completely redesigned 2022 QX60.
