No more big, gas-guzzling engines. This time the truck will be 100-percent electric. And the preliminary specs are unreal: 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 pound-feet of torque and 0-96 km/h in three seconds.

GM reportedly has invested more than $2 billion in the development of what will be a direct competitor of the Tesla Cybertruck. We bet styling will be a lot less polarizing.

The public debut will take place on May 20. As previously reported, the electric GMC Hummer will be built in Michigan at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant, which is getting a $2.9 billion investment to shift from regular production to EV production.

Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of 2021, or about the same time as the Cybertruck.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any more details at the moment, but it’s safe to say it has been a long while since GM has presented such an exciting truck.
