Audi Q5, The Car Guide’s Best New SUV of the Year for 2018

The Audi Q5 compact luxury SUV, redesigned for 2018, was named the Best New SUV of the Year by The Car Guide’s team of journalists. The list of category winners for The Car Guide’s Best Buys for 2018 can also be found on our website.

The new Q5 boasts a new and improved cabin, with a high-quality and sophisticated finish, but also an ergonomically designed control layout. The driver also gets the Audi virtual cockpit, a configurable 12.3-inch digital display that impresses by its superb resolution.

Under the hood, the Q5 relies on a turbocharged, 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 252 horsepower, matched to a dual-clutch, seven-speed automatic gearbox and a new quattro ultra all-wheel drive system. We can also choose the Audi SQ5 for an extra dose of performance, thanks to its 354-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 and full-time quattro all-wheel drive. Ride comfort and road manners are both enhanced with the optional air suspension.

The Nissan Qashqai came in second for the Best New SUV of the Year title, while the Range Rover Velar also finished on the podium.
