Apple CarPlay: Soon To Be Installed In Every Car

Apple fans, rejoice: soon, your next car could come with an infotainment system designed by your beloved brand. The company's CEO Tim Cook says up to forty different models will introduce Apple’s new car infotainment system this year. Cook also says the technology will be available on every model in the near future.

“Now every major car brand has committed to delivering CarPlay,” Cook said at an Apple event on Monday where he also announced the release of the Apple Watch and upgraded MacBook.

Unfortunately he didn’t specify which manufacturers have committed but if indeed forty different 2016 models will be shipping with it by the end of the year, the details won’t be far behind.

Currently only Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz offer Apple CarPlay. Volvo is putting it in the new XC-90 as well. The move will be a welcomed departure from the myriad of often frustrating car infotainment systems we have today.
