Chrysler/Dodge Minivans Targeted by Another Recall
One of the most touted features of the Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Grand Caravan was the third row electric-opening side windows. At the touch of a button installed in the driver’s armrest, those glass panes would pop out, a feature very useful for getting hot air (and wet dog smell) out of the vehicle quickly. In the days of yore, those windows were manual, a less than useful feature.
But on Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Grand Caravan vans built between 2010 and 2014, that button may have been poorly built, causing it to short-circuit if liquids get inside. This can then start an electrical fire inside the door.

And if you own a Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Grand Caravan, you know that liquids splashing around are a regular occurrence… This is a vehicle designed to carry young kids, after all!
More than 107,000 vehicles are affected by this recall. The dealership will replace the switch with another, more waterproof design.
In the meantime, remember to leave your windows closed to make sure that rain won’t get inside the car, and make sure that your kid’s juice bottles are sealed!
