Beijing Hosts Bugatti's latest Legend Edition Veyron
The latest limited edition Bugatti Veyron is currently on display at the Beijing Auto Show. It is named Black Bess, and is intended as an hommage to one of the manufacturer's historical models.
The fifth Legend Edition of Bugatti Veyron is the Black Bess. Contrary to the other four, this one honors a specific car, not a person. Black Bess was the name of a 1913 Bugatti Type 18, sold new to a french fighter pilot named Roland Garros. The car was later sold to Ivy Cummings, who won several races with it.

With a 5 liter 4-cylinder engine producing 100 Horsepower, Black Bess could run up to 160 km/h. In 1913, this was fast enough to leave the other cars in the dust!
Fast-forward more than a century, and the latest Black Bess can also teach a lesson to most of its competitors, with its signature W16 engine pumping out 1184 HP. This Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is painted black, and is decorated with 24 karat gold leaf. The interior features drawings of the original Black Bess embroided on various panels.
