Volkswagen Predicts Deliveries of 9.5 Million Vehicles in 2013

This news comes via a statement made by Martin Winterkorn, the chief executive of Volkswagen in an interview he gave to Reuters, at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

If realized, this would be 200,000 units more than in 2012.

However in order to achieve this goal, Volks will need to step up its efforts. August sales are lagging behind last year with a decline of 1%. Fortunately, deliveries since the beginning of the year totaled 3.84 million units, an increase of 3.1%.

Currently Toyota is the largest automaker in the world, and all indications are that it will remain so in 2013. This is followed by General Motors and then Volkswagen.
