Toyota 4Runner
With its ladder frame, the Toyota 4Runner is one of the last “true” off-road vehicles. It isn’t the smoothest in town, but when you take it off beaten path, nothing can stop this vehicle. That’s thanks to its transfer case equipped with a low range, its skid plates and its generous approach and departure angles. The 4.0L V6 engine (270 horsepower and 278 lb·ft of torque) isn’t modern, but it helps tow up to 2268 kilograms (5000 pounds).
