These are not ideal times for the huge Suburban. This gigantic SUV, once lauded for its numerous qualities, is now getting many an accusatory finger pointed at it (not always the index!). Yet, to carry several people, a lot of luggage, and tow heavy loads, there is nothing better. Offered in a range of 1500 and 2500 series models, with two or four-wheel drives, the Suburban is made for work. This year, its automatic transmission has six speeds, which should lower fuel consumption a little.
