2027 Ram SRT TRX: the T-Rex is Back With 777 Horsepower
After disappearing for a couple of years, the most powerful and most off-road capable Ram 1500 is back and meaner than ever. The all-new 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX also marks the rebirth of the automaker’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT Performance) sub-brand.
Featuring a reinforced body-on-frame construction, Crew Cab and 5.7-foot cargo bed, every TRX sports blacked-out projector LED headlamps and a bold Flame Red R-A-M grille badge with a flow-through design, complemented by matching Flame Red front and rear tow hooks. The steel front bumper is integrated with a functional skid plate.

At the rear, darkened LED taillamps and integrated Blind Spot Monitoring are positioned alongside a large R-A-M badge and first-ever SRT badge on the tailgate (the TRX badge itself features a distinctive depiction of the famed apex predator). And don’t miss the aggressive Gloss Black five-inch dual exhaust tips.

TRX customers can choose an optional full-length rock rail for added body/sill protection or traditional off-road powder-coated aluminum running boards. Optional bedside and hood graphics are available for added visual impact.
Increased Power
Under the hood lies the familiar supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8, except that it now produces 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed transmission. According to Ram, the TRX sprints from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 km/h. The increased output is the result of new components and tuning including an updated engine management system.

“Ram set the bar five years ago with 702 horsepower, and that benchmark has been challenged. SRT doesn’t limbo; we high-jump—and 721 wasn’t going to cut it. 777 horsepower? That’s the mark. And it represents more than power—it signals an awakening and a new path forward,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of American Brands, SRT Performance, North American Marketing and Retail Strategy at Stellantis.
Of course, the new TRX is equipped with a long list of rugged components to tackle extreme terrain. Consider the second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, standard 35-inch tires on Satin Black 18-inch wheels and BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case. Available drive modes include Auto, Tow, Mud/Sand, Rock, Snow, Sport, Baja, Custom and Valet.

The TRX matches the RHO’s 11.8 inches of ground clearance, riding two inches higher and six inches wider than the Ram 1500 Rebel). It also offers up to 13 inches of suspension travel in front and 14 inches of suspension travel in the rear. The approach and departure angles are 31 degrees and 25.2 degrees, respectively.
Familiar Cabin
Inside, the 2027 Ram SRT TRX retains a familiar layout but adds visual flair and extra technology. Red contrast stitching flows across the hand-wrapped dashboard, door panels and centre console and is further complemented by red embroidered TRX seatback logos and TRX-exclusive Ruby Red seatbelts. The full suede headliner and suede-wrapped visors are borrowed from the luxurious Ram 1500 Tungsten.

In front of the driver is a configurable, full-colour head-up display with a 10-inch field of view, plus a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that displays nearly two dozen different menus. A standard 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 centre touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, class-exclusive dual wireless charging pads for smartphones and premium 19-speaker 900W Harman Kardon audio system headline tech-forward hardware.
We’d be remiss not to mention the standard surround 360-degree camera system or the 12-way power front seats with memory function, massage and heating and ventilation. There’s the optional Trailer Reverse Steer Control, operated via a rotating knob, as well as hands-free Active Driving Assist (level 2+).

Special Edition
A Bloodshot Night Edition celebrates the return of the TRX to the Ram lineup, taking the truck’s already aggressive looks to another level. A bespoke, hand-painted Blacktop exterior upper in Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat combines with a custom-painted Flame Red centre stripe, while a unique bodyside splash graphic is drawn from the front door through the bedside and integrated with the recognizable TRX graphic. The wheels are finished in Satin Black with Satin Titanium beadlock rings.
Not to be overlooked, the cabin features red outline TRX badging and a glass-encased TRX centre console badge. As a finishing touch, carbon fibre with red anodized thread is integrated into the weave pattern.

The 2027 Ram SRT TRX will hit the market in the second half of 2026, and pricing will be announced closer to launch. In the meantime, those looking for a dedicated off-road performance truck can consider the 2026 Ram 1500 RHO equipped with the twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder Hurricane engine, which retails for $123,568 (MSRP plus fees). At the time of writing, a pre-tax rebate of $11,500 was available.
