2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E Adds California Special Package

Looking forward to next summer already? Canadian falls and winters aren’t always beautiful and exciting, which is why potential Ford Mustang Mach-E customers should rejoice about the new GT California Special model that’s joining the lineup for 2026, following the lead of the V8-powered Mustang coupe.

As a quick reminder, this package is part of a tradition that dates back as far as 1968, having originally been created to highlight the importance of California in the Mustang's initial success.

For the electric crossover, the company didn’t want to copy and paste what it did with the Mustang GT/CS, although the two vehicles feature Rave Blue accents on their wheels, grille, exterior badges and interiors. Also, they both sport the updated “California Special” font, which trades the ‘60s heritage style for a modern block look.

More specifically, the 20-inch carbonized grey wheels wear gloss black aero covers and a printed GT/CS logo, there’s an illuminated Rave Blue pony emblem on the grille, and the two-tone hood graphic with “California Special” lettering is said to be inspired by the California coastline, with “radiant sunset lines in layered grey, black, and a blue accent representing the ocean.”

Inside, the Performance seats are upholstered in Navy Pier-coloured ActiveX synthetic material with a reflective blue and silver stripe. The centre armrest and steering wheel are also wrapped in the same navy ActiveX, while matching floor mats echo the seats’ blue and silver stitching details.

That's pretty much it. To be clear, the California Special package is exclusive to the Mustang Mach-e GT model, which delivers 480 horsepower, up to 700 lb-ft of torque and a range of 446 km.

The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT/CS can be ordered starting October 22 and will begin arriving at Canadian dealerships this winter. Pricing has yet to be announced.
