Your Next Ford Vehicle Will Have More Racing in Its DNA
Ford no longer wants any part of boring vehicles that don't excite consumers. That's why the company eliminated models like the Focus, Fusion, EcoSport and more in recent years.
Need further evidence? Ford Performance is today being re-branded as Ford Racing, and general manager Will Ford (the great-great-grandson of Henry Ford) is making a promise: there will be no more walls between Ford’s race teams and those in charge of engineering the production vehicles featuring the Blue Oval.

“Under one global Ford Racing banner, our engineers and designers will develop our performance road cars right alongside our race cars,” he wrote in a letter to Ford enthusiasts and customers. “The technology that survives the Baja 1000 will be in the DNA of the next F-150 Raptor. The aerodynamic lessons we learn at Daytona and Le Mans will be sculpted into the body of the next Mustang.”
Talking about “a direct line from the track to your driveway,” Ford announced that the first production vehicle born from this new Ford Racing mindset will debut this January—right about the same time as the Dakar Rally and 24 Hours of Daytona, two endurance races that Ford will compete in and aims to win.

What’s more, Ford racing schools, Bronco Off-Roadeo camps and other similar programs will expand to enhance the ownership experience and “prove that the capabilities we engineer on the track and on the trail are real,” Ford said.
It’s also worth reminding you that Ford will return to Formula 1 in 2026 as powertrain supplier for Red Bull and Racing Bulls.
