2025 Ford F-150 Lobo Debuts as Street Truck From the Factory
Following the Maverick, it’s now the Ford F-150’s turn to get the Lobo treatment for 2025. Remember, we saw it first in late May in the form of an undisguised prototype caught testing on public roads.
The result, made official last night, is perhaps not as cool as we anticipated. Basically, Ford has answered the call of street truck enthusiasts by giving the F-150 an updated suspension that drops the rear by two inches and adding a 10-piece ground appearance package that visually lowers the truck even more.

As part of the body kit, the F-150 Lobo gets a wide gloss-black mesh lower grille and a unique upper grille for a more aggressive front fascia. A cowl hood as well as updated headlamps drawing a family line with the Maverick Lobo are also included.
Naturally, there are numerous black-accented exterior features such as the hood vents, exhaust tips and badges, not to mention unique 22-inch gloss black wheels. Five body colours are available—Agate Black Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat—with the all-black version being the favourite of lead designer Josh Blundo.

The Lobo package is based on the F-150 STX SuperCrew and powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine that puts out the same 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an upgraded two-speed automatic 4WD system. Why didn’t Ford choose the F-150 Raptor's high-output 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6, which generates 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft? We think it has to do more about the sound than performance.
“We built Lobo to be the powerful and stylish street truck enthusiasts truly want, from the factory,” Blundo says. “We integrated significant, often costly modifications and handled the updates typically challenging for owners, delivering a complete foundation straight off the line. While Lobo is ready for the road just as it is, we know some will take this great foundation for future personalization.”

Canadian pricing for the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is set at $74,590 plus $2,595 freight and PDI. That means the package costs an extra $6,350 over the STX model.
The Blue Oval helped popularize the street truck genre with the F-150 SVT Lightning back in 1993-1995 and then from 1999-2004. Since the Lightning moniker now applies to the battery-electric F-150, the company had to turn to Lobo (not to be confused with premium variants of the F-150 sold in Mexico).
As for the Maverick Lobo, we got the opportunity to take it for a spin during a media event in California earlier this spring, so make sure you read our first-drive impressions.
