EV Chargers Coming to 100 Tim Hortons Across Canada by End of 2028

Quebec-based EV charger manufacturer FLO, which last month said it would eliminate more than 80 salaried jobs and close its Shawinigan factory, today announced a plan to deploy fast chargers at 100 Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada by the end of 2028.

The rollout will make Tim Hortons the largest restaurant provider of EV fast charging in Canada, said Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer at Tim Hortons, who noted that chargers will be installed in all 10 provinces from coast to coast.

The first EV fast chargers are already open to the public in Regina, Saskatchewan. Work is underway at 13 more Tim Hortons restaurants for a launch by the end of the year and up to 50 additional locations by the end of 2026. Each restaurant will have an average of four charging ports for customers to use.

The charging stations selected for these deployments are the FLO Ultra, which can deliver up to 120 km of range in as little as 10 minutes, according to FLO. Like every other charger in the existing network (over 100,000 DC and Level-2 AC chargers across North America), drivers will easily locate them and start a session directly from the FLO mobile app.

“This partnership with Tim Hortons marks a pivotal moment in making EV charging a seamless part of everyday life for Canadians,” said FLO President and CEO Louis Tremblay.

Back in June 2024, FLO signed a new partnership with Metro to provide at least 500 fast charging ports at more than 130 Metro, Super C, Food Basics and Marché Adonis grocery store locations in Quebec and Ontario.
