Watch: Rimac Nevera R Breaks 24 World Speed Records
Remember when the Rimac Nevera broke 23 performance records on the same day in May 2023? Well, its more accomplished and more extreme version, the Nevera R, has just bettered them all and set a 24th world speed record in the process.
With 2,107 hp (193 hp more than the Nevera), the quad-motor Nevera R belongs to an ultra-exclusive club of hypercars, although deliveries have not yet begun. Among other things, it is the new 0-400-0 km/h king with a time of 25.79 seconds. That’s 2.04 seconds quicker than the Koenigsegg Regera and 4.14 seconds quicker than the Nevera.

As Rimac explains, the Nevera R's performance gains stem from a comprehensive re-engineering of all major components. The enhanced aerodynamic package, featuring a fixed rear wing and enlarged diffuser, generates 15% more downforce while improving aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. New Michelin Cup 2 tires reduce understeer by 10% while increasing lateral grip by 5%, working in conjunction with the next-generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system that has been specifically recalibrated to maximize the potential of the high-performance rubber.
“When we first introduced Nevera it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached. In a single generation, we had created a performance jump that previously would have taken decades,” said Mate Rimac, founder and president of Rimac. “But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.”
By the way, the Rimac Nevera R will be limited to just 40 units globally, each with a base price of 2.3 million euros (approx. $3.7 million CAD). That's probably a good thing, because as we've written before, the company is having trouble finding buyers who prefer electric sports cars to gasoline-powered ones.
