All-New Jeep Cherokee Teased Ahead of Late 2025 Launch
Jeep today confirmed what we’ve basically known since last year: the Cherokee is back. It will be fully revealed soon and go on sale late this year.
Discontinued in March 2023 after a non-continuous run of 49 years, the compact SUV left a big void in the Jeep lineup that the smaller Compass hasn’t quite been able to fill since.

The next-generation Cherokee, which is fully shown on a pair of teaser images released by the company, is “reimagined from the ground up” and sports a much more sophisticated and boxier-looking design. It will be larger, too (Jeep describes it as a “midsize SUV,” though still positioned below the Grand Cherokee), and available with a “new, efficient and powerful hybrid propulsion option.” A conventional gas engine is expected to come standard.

“This is a historic year for the Jeep brand, with more product, innovation, choice and standard content for customers than ever before,” Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf said. “The all-new Jeep Cherokee will boast competitive pricing that strikes at the core of the largest vehicle segment and sits perfectly between Jeep Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee to bolster our winning mainstream line up.”
Following its official debut only weeks from now, the new 2026 Jeep Cherokee will enter production sometime in the second half of 2025. Where exactly? That too remains to be confirmed. One thing's for sure: Jeep will have to improve build quality, offer a more refined interior and be extremely careful about its pricing strategy so as not to repeat its past mistakes.
The Compass, now carrying a lower base price, was the only Jeep vehicle not to see its Canadian sales decline in the first quarter of 2025.
