Used Hyundai Elantra, Santa Fe Facing Camera Issues, 48,000 Units Recalled

The latest example comes from Hyundai, which has to recall the 2021-2022 Elantra and Sante Fe, including their hybrid models. Over 48,000 units are affected in Canada.

The difference this time is that the problem isn’t software-related. The rear-view camera may not have been manufactured properly and could fail over time, causing the image not to display when reversing and increasing the risk of a crash.

If you own an Elantra or Santa Fe from any of these model years, you might receive a mailed notice from Hyundai Canada in the next few weeks. A visit to a dealership will be necessary to replace the rear-view camera.
