Preserve Your Vehicle's Body in 3 Easy Steps

Road conditions, weather, and other unforseen events can cause damage to vehicles regardless of the season, which is why it’s important to perform regular maintenance to the body and apply preventive treatments.

Even if you just recently bought a used car that’s already showing some signs of wear, there is no reason to neglect it! Hence, here are 3 easy steps you can follow to keep your shine.

1. Film and Touch-Ups

Installing a transparent protection film is a great way to protect the front-end of your vehicle from rock impacts and other debris. This mostly applies to new vehicles, but it is still advised for used vehicles in great condition.

If your car is already damaged, paint touch-ups might just do the trick. Ideally, you want this to be performed by a specialized detailing technician. If not, you can always use a repair system such as Rock Bumper.

2. Wax and Coatings

Applying a good quality wax after washing your car is another good move. Is it expensive? Not at all. It is actually recommended to apply the wax once per season for optimal protection.

When it comes to ceramic coating, this type of product can indeed work very well, but the car MUST be thoroughly cleaned (wash and decontaminate) before the coating can be applied.

3. Bird Feces and Bugs

Since today’s paints are thinner and less resistant to abrasives, it doesn’t take much to damage them. For example, bird feces can cause permanent damage to the paint, and they are of frequent occurrence during spring and summer.

Naturally, it is important to remove these droppings as quickly as possible, otherwise the acid they contain will stain in a matter of days. In addition, don’t make the mistake of scrubbing the feces, which can cause more damage to the paint. A good pressure wash is the way to go.
