2022 Genesis G80 Sport Announced With Some Canadian Flavour

Genesis has released the first pictures of the redesigned G80 Sport, which is returning to the lineup with an extra dose of attitude and once again more athletic looks than other versions of the G80 midsize luxury sedan.

It all starts with a new exclusive body colour called Cavendish Red, which is named after and inspired by the famous red cliffs in and around Cavendish, Prince Edward Island—seriously. That’s pretty cool from the young Korean brand.

The car’s front end features an exclusive design with a radiator grille in dark glossy chrome and a three-dimensional, wing-shaped front bumper that accents the intake grille. Black bezels around the headlights are another distinctive touch.

Dark glossy chrome is also applied to all side mouldings, while the exclusive 20-inch dark sputtering alloy wheels with their G-Matrix Pattern can be paired with two additional caliper colours—black and red. The rear sports a horizontal line and unique bumper design giving the G80 Sport a wider and more powerful stance, which is underscored by a new diffuser.

Inside, three exclusive colour options have been added including black monotone with a choice between grey or red stitching, and Sevilla Red. Customers will also be able to choose a diamond or V-shaped seat quilting design. Meanwhile, the dashboard garnish comes in three different designs including Sport-exclusive real aluminum, real carbon and a diamond-patterned hybrid weaving pattern that will debut for the first time ever in the G80 Sport.

There are no details about the powertrain for now, but we know that Rear Wheel Steering will be available to maximize stability and handling. Don’t miss the official debut of the 2022 Genesis G80 Sport later this summer.
