Updated 2022 Buick Enclave is Officially Unveiled

At the beginning of the year, Buick gave us a preview of the refreshed 2022 Enclave while introducing the smaller, second-generation 2021 Buick Envision. Now, we have a lot more details to share with you.

Before going any further, let’s remind you that the three-row luxury SUV was completely redesigned for the 2018 model year and received a first series of updates for 2020.

Two years later, the Enclave gets sharper, more modern styling while retaining essentially the same silhouette. The headlights are particularly attractive, as is the larger front grille. The taillights and bumpers have a fresh look, as well, and new wheel designs are available, including the 20-inch units on Sport Touring.

Inside, the restyled centre console features push-buttons for the transmission, more soft-touch materials throughout the cabin and available heated/ventilated front seats with a massage function.

The high-end Avenir model stands out with exclusive front and rear fascias, Avenir badges, unique interior trim appliques and seat finishes, adaptive cruise control and available Continuous Damping Control active suspension for a smoother ride.

Safety is improved, too. New for 2022 is a standard Driver Confidence Plus Package with nine active safety features: Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Front and Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and IntelliBeam Auto High Beams.

There are no changes as far as the powertrain is concerned, however. The Enclave returns with a 3.6-litre V6 rated at 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. FWD and AWD configurations are available.

“The 2022 Buick Enclave’s enhancements elevate the design, safety features and driving experience that premium SUV customers have come to expect and appreciate,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC. “After nearly 15 years as one of the segment’s pioneering premium SUVs, the Enclave continues to reward customers by offering more style and substance.”

The 2022 Buick Enclave will arrive in Canadian dealerships this fall. Pricing will be announced in the coming months. We don't expect it to challenge German competitors, however.
