Ford Bronco Adds 7-speed Manual Option to Sasquatch Package

Remember the petition launched by Ford Bronco fans a few weeks ago urging the company to expand the availability of the seven-speed manual gearbox? Well, Ford has heard the message and is doing something about it.

Indeed, those who select the high-performance off-road Sasquatch package when ordering their two-door or four-door Bronco will be able to choose the manual instead of the 10-speed automatic transmission.

As a quick refresher, the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco is available in Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak and First Edition models. The Sasquatch package is optional with the first five and standard with the last two.

Included are 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, Dana electronic locking axles with  4.7:1 final drive ratio, plus a high-clearance suspension with a nearly two-inch wider track, position-sensitive Bilstein shocks and wider fender flares.

“Capability is always a priority, and pairing Sasquatch with a manual transmission and available advanced 4x4 system gives it a maximum crawl ratio of 94.75:1,” explained Dave Pericak, Ford Icons global director.

Sometime next month, reservation holders who made a $100 deposit will finally have access to the 2021 Ford Bronco’s online configurator and be able to determine exactly the model they want by comparing prices, specs and options. Those reservations will be turned into actual orders when the process starts in December. Deliveries are scheduled to start next June.

There’s only one problem: if you order a Bronco Sasquatch with a manual transmission, don’t expect to receive it until late 2021.
