Tesla Model S P85D: Even More Power

Tesla announced that its Model S P85D with all-wheel drive can generate up to 687 pound-feet of torque. This is enough to send the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. This would be pretty impressive on its own, but it seems that the manufacturer may be selling its car short.

An independent member of the media decided to take one of the very first Model S P85Ds and place it on a dynamometer capable of calculating the torque sent to all four wheels. While the instant twist made it hard to not spin the wheels, they finally managed to put the power down.

In the above video, you can see the car silently turning its four wheels (most of the sounds you hear come from the dyno's rollers), generating 862 pound-feet of torque, which is 177 MORE than Tesla has advertised!
