A Lamborghini Huracán for the Italian Polizia

When they see red and blue strobe lights in their rearview mirror, some drivers unconsciously calculate their chances of running away. Even if the police drive an arsenal of powerful patrol vehicles, some of us daily drive cars that could easily blow the doors off a V6 Charger, police pack or not. But I’m pretty sure that in Italy, no one runs away from the Polizia, since they now drive a Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4!

The Sant’Agata manufacturer started collaborating with the Italian police in 2004, when they gave a Gallardo to their recruitment department. Over the following decade, other Lamborghinis were added to the Polizia’s fleet, and they are used for crime prevention, transporting important cargo and even high-speed chases on the Autostrada.

However, those first Gallardos are starting to show their age. After all, police duty is hard on a car, and Italian supercars are not exactly known for their reliability… Lamborghini will give the State Police new means to pursue the fastest criminals, with a Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4.

With a 610HP, 5.2L V10 engine screaming behind the seats, the Huracán can reach up to 325 km/h, more than enough to make speeders think twice about breaking the law. At that point, even the mighty Ducatis are not safe from this monster!
