Jeep Wrangler to Lose its Solid Axle

Is a Jeep Wrangler without a solid axle possible?

It’s mainly due to its solid axle that the vehicle can overcome obstacles and climb mountains with as much ease and effectiveness.

However, the next generation of the venerable fighters - in 2015 - will offer lighter models to comply with environmental standards currently in place in the United States.

Mile Manley, the head honcho of the Jeep division confirmed this during an interview with Automotive News.

In other words the future Jeep Wrangler will be cheaper and a little more civilized.
