BMW Ends Production of 1-Series Coupes and Convertibles

The BMW 1 Series Coupe and Convertible have left the assembly lines in Leipzig, Germany, while the hatchback versions sold in Europe continue to be produced.

Don’t worry thought, because the coupes and convertibles will still exist as the BMW 2-Series.

BMW 2-Series.

BMW decided to imitate Audi who chose to separate sedans and wagons from its coupes and convertibles. This was already accomplished with the coupe and convertible 3-Series being renamed 4-Series models and the same now goes for the 1-Series.

Unveiled Friday

The German manufacturer has already announced the unveiling of its first 2-Series coupe will be Friday, October 25.

The 2-Series will be relatively similar to the current 1-Series but slightly larger with face-lifted front and rear ends.
