Jaguar Speedboat Concept: la combinaison gagnante

Following in the footsteps of prestigious automobile names such as Audi, Ferrari, Porsche and others lending their names to the development of luxurious yachts, Jaguar recently decided to embark on a publicity stunt combining luxury car and yacht.

In this case, it is not the production of a Jaguar boat rather, Ian Callum, chief designer, chose a marketing approach to demonstrate the affiliation between the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake and the Lifestyle of the clientele for this type of shooting-brake (station wagon).

To produce the concept, Jaguar collaborated with Seventy Seven Design and Ivan Erdevicki Naval Architecture & Yacht Design.

The design of the Speedboat makes passing glances to a number of classic models from the British marque most notably the Jaguar D-Type racing car produced from 1954 to 1957.

The Speedboat includes:

  • A fibreglass hull;
  • A natural teak bridge;
  • A Jaguar D-Type inspired fin;
  • A polished aluminium propeller;
  • Jaguar XJ sourced fuel filler caps;
  • A red coloured cabin inspired from Jaguar sport cars.

Finally, this styling study will quite possibly never lead to a Jaguar production yacht.
