Audi RS Q3 Concept: An athletic adventurer
The Audi Q3 is a superbly luxurious compact SUV. And though its measurements are comparable to those of the Volkswagen Tiguan, its shape is a cut-and-copy of its big brother, the Q5.
Assembled in China, the Q3 is currently sold in Europe, satisfying the needs of an ever-growing client base.
The RS Q3 concept
Thus, it comes as no surprise that Audi has chosen the Beijing Motor Show as the best place to unveil a more athletic version of the pleasant recreational vehicle. This new concept will probably become a production model in 2013.
The RS Q3 is the first Audi SUV to inherit the RS name.
And in keeping with German automaker trends, when one offers a new model, you can bet your money that the two others will follow with something similar. But once again, it’s Audi in the lead with its Q3.
The RS Q3 Concept sets itself apart with:
- An electric blue exterior
- Black honeycomb grille
- Redesigned bumpers
- Impressive air intakes
- Front diffuser and rear spoiler
- Headlamps with LED daytime running lights
- More pronounced wheel wells
- Double exhaust
- Awesome 20" wheels
The interior is quite sporty, with blue and black hues throughout.
More powerful engine
At Audi, any vehicle that proudly bears the RS emblem is, by definition, the most powerful and sporty member of its clan.
In fact, when it comes to world-class handling, the honours are shared among the German labels and models Audi S and RS, BMW M Sport Mercedes-Benz AMG.
This vehicle’s technical specs are very impressive, thanks to:
- 2.5L turbocharged five-cylinder engine
- 360 horsepower
- Seven-speed dual-clutch S Tronic transmission
- 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds
- Maximum speed of 265 km/h.
This engine already graces the Audi RS3 and TT RS.
For more dynamic handling and extra safety, the SUV has been lowered 2.5 cm.
