Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering tie rod ends may not be assembled correctly and could be missing a washer.

Over time, this may cause excessive wear to the tie rod ends and cause them to break.

This could result in a loss of steering control.

Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the tie rods and ball joints.
