Toyota Matrix
Like the sedan, the hatchback version of the Corolla comes with a choice of two four-cylinder engines: the basic one (1.8 litre) producing 132 horsepower, and the Camry’s old 158 horsepower 2.4-litre engine. The latter can be associated to an all-wheel drive, which isn’t the case with the Corolla. But before choosing more power, think about it: is a 26 horsepower boost really better? On the other hand, the XRS suspension is much firmer.
