The Altima sedan is all-new for 2013. The engine family evolves from the previous generation: the 2.5 litre four-cylinder now makes 182 hp (2.5, 2.5S, 2.5SV, 2.5SL), while the 3.5 litre V6 makes 270 hp (3.5SV, 3.5 SL). The CVT transmission is improved, but the manual option is gone. When teamed with the V6, the CVT offers seven virtual “gears”, accessible via paddle shifters. The two-door Altima Coupe is carried-over from 2012, but its line-up is reduced to the four-cylinder 2.5S version with CVT.
