This mid-engine Italian exotic is powered by a 562-hp 4.5L V8 whose crescendo culminates at 9000 rpm, twisting 398 lbs.-ft. of torque at 6000 rpm along the way. The 458’s steering wheel seems right out of an F1, with multiple commands grouped on its hub, including the red manettino that controls the driving modes. Right next to its rim are the paddles that control the automated double-clutch seven-speed gearbox, the only one offered. New for 2014, the 458 Speciale offers 597 horses.
