2017 Bentley Bentayga in Images

If you thought the Bentley Mulsanne's grille was big, wait until you see the one on the Bentayga.

The famous winged "B" logo is obviously noticeable, as is the case with all other Bentley products.

There's definitely a family resemblance between the Continental GT (on the left) and the Bentayga. The latter's colour is called "Damson," a purple tint that Prince would've liked!

From the rear, the Bentley Bentayga looks a little like a Volkswagen Touareg that gained weight.

While many vehicles on the market have two exhaust outlets even if there's only one exhaust, the Bentayga has two pipes coming out of one exhaust tip on each side.

Tire size is 285/45R21, front and rear. Each one probably costs the same as my montly mortgage payment.

Another "B." On the photographed model, it's a fake air vent. Could this become a functional air scoop on sportier variations of the Bentayga?

They Bentayga's twin-turbo, 6.0-litre W12 engine that develops 600 horsepower as well as 664 lb.-ft. of torque between 1350 and 4500 rpm. Too bad such a fabulous piece of engineering is hidden under so much plastic...

A near-infinite number of leather colour and wood trim combinations are available. Here, a portion of the leather upholstery is the same colour as the exterior paint job.

The 2017 Bentley Bentayga's gauges are charmingly simple.

The eight-speed automatic transmission is supplied by ZF. If it works as well as in Bentley's other models, the Bentayga's owner might not even notice that there's a gearbox, given its smoothness.

The central knob, which houses the engine start button, allows to choose between various drive modes. According to options selected, there are four or eight different modes (this particular vehicle had eight), which tailor the vehicle's drive either on or off road. It's safe to say that the Bentayga has very good off-road capabilities, more than what its owner will ever need. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 7700 lbs. (3500 kg).

A Bentley clock. A Mulliner Tourbillon clock by Breitling is also offered as an option, which is finished with eight diamond indexes and costs $160,000. You read right. Half the price of a house to check the time. Four of these watches will be fabricated each year.

Naim sound system. The choice for audiophiles.

Bentley seats are among the most comfortable of the industry. These ones certainly aren't an exception to that rule, at least, after I sat in them for 30 seconds!

So few adjustments... for a Bentley, that is. Still, don't worry, an ideal driving position can quickly be found.

Elegance everywhere.

When the front seats are moved back, rear-seat legroom isn't all that generous. However, seat comfort should compensate nicely.

Since no one should be buying a Bentayga to haul stuff, the cargo area and the cockpit are separated by an elegant partition.

At least there's a pass-thru for carrying a few sets of skis.

Outward rear visibility shouldn't be very good.
