Ford, like all automakers, is working hard on reducing vehicle weight. The disc brakes seen in front are made of molded steel and weigh 9.1 kg. The same type of disc made from aluminum alloy and coated in a layer of steel weighs just 5.5 kg. That’s 40% lighter!
