Top Ten 2014 Cars in Need of a Refresh

#9: Land Rover LR2. Introduced in 1997 as the Freelander was given an update for the 2007 model year and renamed the LR2 which is what it remains today. Last year it received a new EcoBoost engine and only subtle changes inside and out.

#8. Toyota Sequoia. The current model Sequoia was introduced in 2007 for the 2008 model year. The Sequoia is based on the Toyota Tundra pickup which just received its facelift for 2014 so we would expect the Sequoia is not far behind.

#7. Dodge Avenger. First introduced in North America in 1995 the two-door coupe Avenger was produced for five years before being given the axe. After a seven-year hiatus, it returned in February 2007 as a 2008 model. A new Pentastar motor along with interior and exterior upgrades in 2011 weren't enough to keep it off of our list.

#6. Volvo S80. The current style dates back to 2006. That is too long for a vehicle that competes in a segment with other powerhouses such as the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6.

#5. Mitsubishi Lancer. The Lancer is popular with younger, tuner-oriented buyers but remains mostly untouched since the 2008 model year.

#4. Aston Martin Vantage V8. The Vantage V8 was introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model. A V12 variant came in 2007 and the Vantage S trim last year but the look remains virtually the same.

#3. Honda Ridgeline. The Honda pickup has had only a single generation and with controversial styling it became outdated quickly. It has been on the market since the 2006 model year.

#2. Volvo XC90. The full-size SUV has aged fairly well, but for a vehicle first introduced in North America for the 2003 model year, it is among the oldest on our list. We expect the next generation to be unveiled sometime this year but it is unclear if it will be released as a 2015 or 2016 model.
