Kia Unveils All-New EV2, GT Trim for EV3, EV4 and EV5
Kia took advantage of the Brussels Motor Show, which opens today, to unveil the production version of the EV2 Concept as well as a new GT trim for the EV3, EV4 and EV5 offering more power and sportiness.
Let's start with the GT trio since they are more likely to come to Canada (no official announcement has been made yet). Each one uses dual motors, all-wheel drive, GT-specific chassis tuning, 20-inch wheels and electronically controlled suspension. They also offer a GT drive mode that governs power distribution, steering, displays and interior lighting, not to mention semi-bucket seats, virtual gear changes and an artificial engine sound.

The EV3 GT and EV4 GT both generate 215 kW (288 hp), while the EV5 GT delivers 225 kW (302 hp). The first one is the fastest of the bunch, sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
These GT models are scheduled to enter production in the second half of 2026. Their availability in Canada remains to be confirmed. The EV4 GT (hatchback only) seems unlikely as we will only have the four-door EV4. On that note, don't miss our reviews of the EV3, EV4 and EV5.

Kia EV2 to Jazz Up European Downtowns
While the EV3 can be classified as a utility vehicle, the new and smaller EV2 is a city car in a hatchback body style that stands just 4.06 metres long. Built at the same Slovakian factory as the EV4 Hatchback, which is not sold in Canada, it is intended for most European markets.
The silhouette is even boxier, and the design provides yet another interpretation of Kia's "Opposites United" philosophy, complete with the Star Map lighting signature, bold wheel arches and geometric-patterned wheels (ranging from 16-19 inches in diameter). The body is available in a solid, pearl, metallic or matte finish.

Inside, the EV2 “offers an open, calming cabin inspired by a Picnic Box concept, blending logic and emotion through fabric-rich materials and intuitive design,” Kia says. A wraparound dashboard surrounds occupants, with a digital interface featuring 12.3-inch main displays and a 5.3-inch climate display. A “Lite” version of the company’s infotainment system is included, resulting in a lower price point (OTA updates and AI assistant are still part of the mix, though).
Cargo capacity is modest with 15 litres under the hood and a maximum of 403 litres in the trunk. Four- and five-seat configurations are available, but we wouldn't want to be stuck in the middle of the second row, that’s for sure. At least the rear seats slide and recline, which is convenient.

As for performance, output isn't specified, but range is estimated at 317 km with the 42.2kWh battery and 448 km with the 61kWh battery according to the WLTP, which is more optimistic than Natural Resources Canada’s own testing method. The Kia EV2 would compete with the Fiat 500e, but the latter's unpopularity combined with the already low price of the EV4 (not to mention the upcoming EV3) makes it unrealistic for Canada.
