34,000 Audis Recalled in Canada, Rearview Cameras and Seatbelts to Blame

Audi has just issued two safety recalls affecting a large number of models and a total of approximately 34,000 vehicles in Canada.

The first one involves a software problem that could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the centre display, thus failing to meet Canadian regulations and increasing the risk of a crash.

As we all know, this type of problem with rearview cameras is extremely common and often easy to fix. In this case, a simple software update will do the trick.

The recalled models include the 2019-2026 A6, A7 and A8, 2019-2024 e-tron, 2022-2026 e-tron GT, 2020-2026 Q7 and 2019-2026 Q8, as well as their sportier S and RS trims. A total of 30,266 vehicles are affected.

The second recall was triggered by rear outboard seat belts that may contain defective automatic locking retractors and therefore may not work properly to secure a child seat. This defect does not affect the lower universal anchorage system, which can still be used to secure a child seat.

Here, dealers will have to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear outboard seat belts.

The models being recalled include the 2025 Audi A5, S5, S6, Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron, plus the 2025-2026 A6. We’re talking about 3,859 units in Canada.

Owners will receive a notice by mail in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can call 1-800-822-8987 or visit the Audi Canada recall website for more details.
