2026 Toyota RAV4: All-New, Hybrid-Only Lineup Means Higher Prices
The fully redesigned 2026 Toyota RAV4 will start to arrive at dealerships later this month, and as we've reported several times, only the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants remain available (the latter will arrive in the spring). Customers will have to spend more, but according to the company, the base RAV4 still offers the best value in its class.
Before we give you pricing details, remember that the hybrid system has been improved. Combined output has increased from 219 to 236 horsepower, while average fuel consumption now ranges from 5.5-6.2 L/100 km depending on the model:

All-wheel drive remains standard, the chassis and suspension have been revised for improved ride and handling, cargo space is more generous than before, and the next-generation Toyota multimedia system includes the first integration of 5G connectivity, offering increased speeds and expanded functionality. Oh, and every 2026 RAV4 comes standard with the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 4.0), which updates its detection capabilities for systems like Pre-Collision System and Lane Tracing Assist.
How Much Does the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Cost?
The 2026 RAV4 lineup starts with the LE AWD model, which features a new 10.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels. The MSRP is $37,500, a significant increase of $3,815 over the cheapest 2025 RAV4, but only $865 over the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid LE AWD. Considering all the additions and enhancements, that's remarkable.
By the way, the various fees (freight, PDI, dealer, A/C tax, etc.) amount to $3,658, which is pretty hard to swallow given that production takes place in Ontario.

Next up, the XLE AWD model (MSRP starting at $41,300) includes a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, power liftgate, five USB-C charging ports, rain-sensing wipers and parking support brake with Intelligent Clearance Sonar. It also features unique 18-inch wheels, synthetic leather upholstery and wireless smartphone charging. The Premium Package, which adds LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror and more, requires an additional $2,500.
Replacing the RAV4 Trail, the new Woodland model ($47,000) boasts adventure-oriented features and styling. Highlights include new 18-inch black wheels with all-terrain tires, exclusive bumpers, grille, skid plate and fender flares, a tilt/sliding sunroof, trailer hitch, as well as an exclusive interior finish including all-weather floor mats and a cargo liner.

Pricing for the other 2026 RAV4 models, which are even more luxurious and equipped with more advanced technologies, is as follows:
- Limited AWD – $52,000
- XSE AWD – $50,900
- XSE AWD with Technology Package – $52,450
As we mentioned up top, the 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (up to 320 horsepower and a range of 80 km in all-electric mode) will not go on sale until spring.

It will be interesting to see how much eliminating gas-only models and increasing prices will affect RAV4 sales in 2026. For the record, Toyota's brightest star has been by far the best-selling SUV in Canada for several years. In fact, over 940,000 units have been sold since its Canadian debut in 1996, including 75,573 units in 2025 alone. At this pace, the one millionth Canadian RAV4 will be sold toward the end of this year.
