2026 Kia K4 Hatchback Arrives as Canada’s Cheapest 5-Door Compact Car
The all-new 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback will arrive at dealerships in January—straight from a factory in Mexico—and today's pricing announcement brings good news for Canadian customers.
Indeed, it becomes the most affordable hatchback in the country, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $24,795. That's $25 less than the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback and $1,205 less than the 2026 Mazda3 Sport—two competitors nearing the end of their current cycles.

As you can see, the K4 hatchback costs only $500 more than the K4 sedan. While offering the same content and identical rear passenger legroom, it boasts a 280 mm shorter length, which improves handling, and a more versatile interior with 25 mm of additional second-row headroom.
In terms of cargo space, there’s 629 litres in the trunk, which fails to match the Corolla Hatchback and the Honda Civic Hatchback. However, folding the rear seats flat expands cargo capacity to a class-leading 1,680 litres.
By the way, the model in the pictures is a Kia K4 GT-Line Hatchback, which features a three-spoke steering wheel, paddle shifters, 18-inch alloy wheels and numerous gloss black accents. Square LED projector headlights, a sunroof and 16-inch front brake discs are added to the GT-Line Turbo model.
The latter is the only one to feature the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine producing 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also gets a sportier suspension. The other K4 Hatchbacks have a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine that generates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque through a continuously variable transmission.
Visitors to the 2026 Montreal International Auto Show (January 16-25) and 2026 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto (February 13-22) will have the chance to discover the 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback for the first time in Canada.
