2026 Kia K4 Hatchback to Launch in Canada Late in 2025
Originally introduced last year at the New York Auto Show, the new Kia K4 sedan is adding a five-door body style for the North American market. The 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback will go on sale in Canada towards the end of this year with a selection of base and GT-Line models.

Shorter Yet Spacious Still
On the outside, the new car borrows many of the sedan's design cues, such as vertical LED headlamps and door handles that are built into the C-pillars. It is distinguished by a black floating roof that extends to the rear hatch, while the taillamps are directly inspired by those on the EV9 electric crossover.
Despite being 11 inches shorter than its four-door counterpart, the K4 Hatchback maintains class-leading rear legroom and gains an extra inch of rear headroom. The larger trunk has a capacity of 629 litres, and up to 1,680 litres when the rear bench is folded down. What's more, Kia promises better handling thanks to the smaller size.
The sporty GT-Line models feature unique design elements including a three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as gloss black mirror caps, side sills and wheel arch moldings. Furthermore, they get available small-cube LED projection headlights, LED fog lights and a standard power sunroof. And one more thing: the K4 Hatchback can be finished in an exclusive Sparkling Yellow exterior colour.
Inside, drivers face a dual digital display that spans nearly 30 inches. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across all trim levels, but only select models feature a wireless phone charger or Harman Kardon premium audio system. As for safety, Lane Keeping Assist and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go are some of the driver assistance features included as standard.
Two Engine Options
Don’t look for changes under the hood. Similar to the sedan, the K4 Hatchback will come with a standard 2.0-litre engine that produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque through a continuously variable transmission.
The GT-Line model packs a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine delivering 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque with the help of an eight-speed automatic transmission. It also benefits from a sportier suspension for improved handling.
Pricing and other details about the 2026 Kia K4 Hatchback will be announced closer to launch.
