Ford Unveils Full Carbon Fibre Mustang GTD
The highly exclusive Ford Mustang GTD catalogue has added a new variant that is sure to appeal to carbon fiber enthusiasts. Following on from the Spirit of America and Carbon Series, the GTD Liquid Carbon arrived in the GTD lineup this week and was unveiled at the Laguna Seca racetrack in California as part of Monterey Car Week.
Its bodywork, made entirely of molded carbon fibre panels, is the most important feature of this new model, which takes the use of this material even further than the Carbon Series. Highly coveted in motorsports, carbon fibre not only provides additional strength, but also brings a host of technical advantages—in addition to giving this already highly stylish GTD a truly unique look.

An even lighter GTD
Powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine that develops no less than 815 horsepower, the Mustang GTD is sure to impress performance enthusiasts when it comes to acceleration. But the Liquid Carbon package manages to reduce the weight of the beast by 13 pounds compared to the Carbon Series model equipped with the Performance package.
This is made possible thanks, in part, to the use of carbon fiber for the doors and fenders, and the absence of paint on the bodywork. The GTD Liquid Carbon comes standard with all the features included in the Performance package, plus a set of special black Brembo calipers.

A unique interior
Inside, the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon features seating upholstered from a combination of black leather and Dinamica microfiber. The seats also feature Hyper Lime stitching, as do the door trim, center console, dashboard, and steering wheel.

The first delivery of the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is scheduled for October. Its price has not been disclosed, but expect this package to add to the already hefty price tag of the most aggressive Mustang ever!
